                        About Hadarah

Hadarah means “ornamented or bedecked in beauty”.  We create one-of-a-kind, handmade, wearable art, kits for you to create your own, and offer private tutoring and private/group classes.  Hadarah offers an array of fibre arts both for personal adornment and for the home.

"Hadarah creates art that is balanced and harmonious, playful and exciting, healing and peaceful, elegant and sophisticated."

Each piece Hadarah makes comes from the heart and passion of the artist.  While many pieces may utilize the same technique, each has its unique expression, feeling, and energy.

Hadarah believes life is a celebration, and our work reflects a spirit of joy and happiness!  Your patronage is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Rebecca lynn Baker, Lead artist

"Madame" Rebecca had been beading professionally since 1996.  Her primary motivation for getting into beading was a project in the Lapidary Journal magazine.  Before that, her interests were mainly in sewing, calligraphy, and gemstones.  She believes beadwork is not about producing an end result, but enjoying the journey.  She hates to repeat herself, which is why most of the work that she does is entirely unique.

She believes her work is more art than craft, and the pieces she cherishes most reflect her aesthetic sensibilities.  "Art isn't always about suffering or making a statement.  Sometimes, the enjoyment of existence and truly experiencing one single moment take precedence, and really, isn't a little pleasantness and pure color statement enough?".

She is currently exploring the intricacies of bead crochet, and includes many off-loom techniques in her repertoire.   Through diligent practice she is perfecting many innovations, especially concerning the use of gemstones in her work.  A thrilling moment came when one of her pieces, "I Dream of the Ocean", was selected for the juried exhibition, Absolutely Beads 2002.  She is also sharing her knowledge and experience by teaching classes in her local area.
